Mango and Kishmish( Raisin) Raita| Special Recipe during fast| Upvas recipe

Today I invented a novel recipe- Mango and raisins raita. In India during the ‘purshottam mas’ ( sacred holy month) we fast. This recipe is a special recipe specially during fast. It is so simple to make and undoubtedly delicious!!!!

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 cup fresh curd( yogurt)
  2. 15/20 raisins( kishmish)
  3. 1/2 cup chopped Alphonso Mango
  4. 3 teaspoon powdered sugar
  5. 1/4 teaspoon elaichi( cardamom) powder
  6. 1 teaspoon ghee or melted butter
  7. 3/4 teaspoon jeera ( cumin seeds)

Mango raita
METHOD

  1. Add curd in a mixing bowl
  2. Add chopped mango, kishmish, cardamom powder and powdered sugar
  3. Mix everything well
  4. In a small pan heat ghee and add cumin seeds ( jeera) to it
  5. Once the seeds crackle switch off the stove and transfer the tempering in the curd mixture
  6. Mix well again
  7. Garnish with small mango peices and kishmish
  8. Let it chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes
  9. Serve chilled
