Oats Spinach Idli

Todays recipe is a healthy version of Idli. You may have eaten idli many a times but today I am going to share with you a different variation using oats and spinach. Both these main ingredients have many health benefits. Hence Oats Spinach Idli would be one of the best breakfast option for you


  1. 2 Cups oats
  2. 1 cup semolina (rawa)
  3. 1 cup chopped spinach(palak) leaves
  4. 1/2 cup curd
  5. 1 teaspoon fruit salt
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. 2 teaspoon oil
  8. 4/5 curry leaves
  9. 2 dry red chllies
  10. 1teaspoon seasame seeds( til)
  11. 1 teaspoon chopped green onions leaves( hare pyaaz ke patte)


  1. Soak 2 cups of oats and 1 cup of semolina ( rawa) for 30 minutes 
  2. Boil1 glass water in a vessel and then add 1 cup chopped palak (spinach) leaves for one minute
  3. Drain off the water and let the leaves cool down to room temperature.
  4. Grind the soaked oats and semolina to a fine batter
  5. Add 1/2 cup curd to the blanched spinach leaves and grind them to a smooth paste 
  6. In a mixing bowl add the batter and the spinach paste. Mix well
  7. To this add 1 teaspoon eno ( fruit salt) and salt as per taste
  8. Pour the batter into idli moulds and cook idli in the idli steamer 
  9. Once the idlis are cooked , let them cool down . Then remove them from the mould 
  10. In a pan, heat 2 teaspoon oil
  11. Once the oil is heated add 2 dry red chillies( cut them into small pieces)
  12. Then to it add 4/5 curry leaves, 1 teaspoon chopped green onions leaves and 1 teaspoon seasame seeds ( til) 
  13. Add the cooked idlis to it
  14. Mix every thing well and roast the idlis for 2/3 minutes 
  15. Yummy and healthy Palak oats idli are ready to eat. Serve them with green coriander chutney
